The Shimmy Evolution
The key to healthy mind and body is regular exercise. We all know what we must do to achieve this, but it's noy always easy finding a fitness program that strikes that balance of being truly enjoyable and at the same time providing amazing results.
Shimmy Fitness is able to accomplish this exact formula by capturing the essence of Belly Dance and infusing it into a fitness program. The result are a low impact aerobic exercise that combines strengh and stretching dance movements with fun, energetic and captivating music. With each class you will leave relaxed, sensually stimulated and wanting more!
All ages welcome and no dance background necessary!

About
the Belly Dance and Shimmy Fitness Lesson:
The “Malia
in Hawaii”format is an enjoyable and innovative way to fuse
all styles of belly dance into one. creating a one of a kind
style of belly dance. Malia's primary goal as an instructor is for
you to
enjoy your class experience. While in her class, she is welcoming,
supportive and nurturing as you learn about your body and how
it moves within the different body planes and beyond.
At the beginning
of every class, Malia will begin with an entire body warm up using
yoga inspired stretches. After the warm-up, she will direct the class
in drills of belly dance moves (isolations of different body areas.
i.e. the belly) to perfect technique. Malia will teach you how to breathe
into your movements and make them look effortless and unique to you.
After the drill section of class, Malia will break down dance combinations
to be added into choreography. During this segment, Malia will provide
you with individual attention to improve your technique while learning
at your own pace and, most importantly, enjoying the experience of
being feminine and expressing yourself in your unique way.
All ages,
sizes and levels are welcome to experience the art of belly dancing!
What
you should expect in a "Malia In Hawaii" Format Lesson:
Each lesson is 60 minutes while
embracing these components:
A Yoga-Stretch warm up with muscle isolating gentle stretches
Ribcage and upper torso drills
Shoulder, head and hands drills
Belly locks, flutter and roll drills
Hips, pelvis and lower torso drills
Feet and leg drills
Shimmy Cardio segment
Combinations and choreography segment
Ending with a Traveling Improv exercise
